The bearing of the God of commerce, roads and thieves, often honors and protects commercial buildings of the early 1900s in the downtowns of the Bay Area. Here Mercury stands tall at the entrance to the Hunter Dulin Building in downtown San Francisco. The building was built in 1926 and is included in the National Register of Historic Places (#97000348). Artist: unknown Owner: Jones Lang LaSalle Income Property Trust and Ellis Partners Photo: XT |

With a purse in his left hand and quicksilver in his right Mercury shares the pediment of the old California Chamber of Commerce building with Poseidon and possibly Zeus. Originally the San Francisco Mining Exchange and now SF Landmark #113 this structure was built in 1923.
